the big idea
We are creating an anthology of poetry, artwork, and creative non-fiction inspired by motherhood, instigating camaraderie, imprinted by beauty, and infused with Jesus.

We know Momma Artists create Beauty. We want to provide a place to share words and images from and for mommas who weave their faith, creativity, and motherhood into beautifully imperfect expressions of praise.
Who We Are
Magnificat makers. Image-bearers called to image and imagine. Cocreators created to create. We are a group of mothers from different creative backgrounds and different motherhood stages, all with a common passion for beauty, our children, and Jesus. Motherhood came to us in many forms (adoption, fostering, etc) and phases (pregnancy through empty nests) and is interwoven with faith in infinitely varied ways. We pray this anthology reflects the Creator of that diversity and celebrates the common threads that weave the tapestry of motherhood.
Where We Are in the Process
We are currently reviewing submissions in a blind selection process. Messy Magnificat will be published as a full-color hardcopy and as an e-book. Distribution is anticipated to be amongst purveyors of quality gifts and online and local booksellers. Projected print publication is Summer, 2023.
